Project Mirror Labyrinth Passives Guide

Compare Project Mirror Labyrinth passive triggers, targets, timing, and unlock routes with a cautious lookup of currently documented names.

Passives can make an Outfit fit a deck, but only when their conditions occur in the run being played. Current community documentation groups permanent unlocks around kills, quests or achievements, and lists a separate set of Labyrinth-only passives. Many entries remain unfinished in that record, so this guide uses documented names as a lookup and focuses on how to read a live tooltip instead of inventing missing values.

Community reported: the passive names and broad unlock groups below come from the current community catalog. Confirm every trigger, value, target, limit, and unlock counter in the live game.

Passive lookup by reported unlock route

Reported route
Documented examples
What to verify
Enemy-group kills
Association Slayer; Fixer Slayer; Wing Slayer; Syndicate Slayer
Exact enemy tags, required counter, eligible modes, and whether progress is account-wide.
Achievement or quest
By The Manual; Rat's Guide to Survival
Current objective wording, completion state, reward claim, and attached passive tooltip.
Labyrinth-only
Empowered First Shot; Piercer; Wedge; Spanner Up
Whether the effect is temporary, how it is offered, its run duration, and its exact interaction.

These examples are not a complete list or a ranking. Several source rows have missing descriptions, and names alone do not establish a value. Search the current passive menu for the exact entry and preserve its punctuation when reporting a problem.

Read a passive in five parts

First find the trigger. Look for language such as start of turn, first Intent, after an action, when taking damage, below a health threshold, against an enemy tag, or while holding a status. A passive with no satisfied trigger has no practical payoff, regardless of how strong its result sounds.

Second identify the target. The text may affect the player, one card, the first action, an ally, an enemy, or a member of a tagged group. Do not silently expand “first” to every action or “an enemy” to all enemies. Third, determine timing: an effect that arrives after resolution cannot help the action that triggered it unless the tooltip explicitly says so.

Fourth, record the payoff without rounding or importing terminology from another game. If the current tooltip uses a Project Mirror Labyrinth keyword, open its definition. Fifth, find limits and reset conditions: once per turn, once per encounter, maximum stacks, a duration, or a Labyrinth-only boundary can decide whether the passive supports a full run.

Match a passive to the deck

Name the deck’s repeatable action. It might rely on a particular type of card, a setup followed by a payoff, survival below a threshold, or consistent opening pressure. Choose passives whose triggers happen naturally during that action. Adding a second condition merely to activate one passive can make draws and route rewards less dependable.

Then estimate opportunity, not just peak output. A narrow enemy-group passive may be helpful when the current route contains that group and irrelevant elsewhere. A first-action effect may be predictable but constrained. A low-health effect may activate often in a struggling run while increasing failure risk. The correct comparison is how often the condition appears before the difficult point and whether the payoff fixes the problem you actually have.

Test one change at a time in a familiar encounter. Keep the Outfit, deck, and route choice stable when testing a newly unlocked passive where possible. Watch the displayed Intent, status icons, damage or defense resolution, and any stack counter. One observed activation confirms only that situation; it does not prove every undocumented interaction.

Permanent unlocks versus run-only effects

The community catalog separates killing and quest passives from Labyrinth-only passives. Use the live menus to confirm whether an unlock persists across servers and whether a run effect disappears at the result screen. A permanent collection entry should remain visible after rejoining, while a temporary route choice may belong only to the current Labyrinth.

For a kill-based unlock, locate the exact counter before grinding. Confirm the eligible enemy tag and game mode, then complete a small number and verify that the counter moves. If it does not, stop before committing to a long route; the source list may be outdated or the target may use a different classification.

For a quest or achievement unlock, follow the current objective rather than an abbreviated community sentence. Claim the reward if the game presents a separate claim action, then verify that the passive appears in its collection. The Achievements guide explains how to distinguish a tracked Feat, an Achievement milestone, and the reward itself.

Evaluate named examples safely

Slayer names suggest an enemy-group relationship, but the name is not enough to decide the exact bonus, counter, or eligible target. Confirm Association, Fixer, Wing, and Syndicate labels on both the passive and the current enemy before assuming a match. If the game displays a progress bar, record its denominator directly rather than copying an old count.

Empowered First Shot suggests a first-action boundary; Piercer and Wedge suggest an interaction that may involve attack properties; Spanner Up suggests a Workshop-related idea. Those are semantic clues only. Do not turn them into mechanics until the live description provides trigger and effect text. The guide intentionally avoids numbers or card interactions that the available record does not reliably support.

By The Manual and Rat’s Guide to Survival are documented under achievement or quest progress. Search the live achievement interface for the associated objective and reward. If the current version links a different passive, trust the live reward line and treat the community page as stale.

Troubleshoot a passive that appears inactive

Trigger never occurred

Re-read health, status, enemy-tag, position, and timing conditions. Create one low-risk test where the condition is visibly satisfied.

Wrong target

Check whether the effect applies to the player, a card, one action, or an enemy rather than the whole team or hand.

Limit already spent

Look for once-per-turn, encounter, or run wording and any maximum stack. Retry only after the stated reset.

Passive not equipped

Owning an Outfit or completing a task may not automatically select its passive. Verify the active loadout and any claim step.

Run-only effect ended

A Labyrinth-only passive may disappear at the result screen. Do not report loss until its duration is confirmed.

Old wording

A balance update may change the effect while community pages retain an earlier line. Capture the current tooltip when asking for help.

Passive FAQ

Which passive is best?

No universal best is supported. Choose for activation frequency, deck fit, route needs, timing, and the current version rather than rarity or an undated tier.

Are all Outfit passives permanent unlocks?

The community documentation distinguishes Outfit-related and permanent unlock routes from Labyrinth-only effects. Confirm duration and ownership in the live menus for the specific entry.

Why did a kill not advance a Slayer counter?

The enemy may have a different tag, the mode may not qualify, the target may need the final hit, or the community condition may be stale. The live counter and passive description must decide.

Can another Project Moon game’s rules explain the passive?

No. Inspirations can make names familiar, but Project Mirror Labyrinth’s current tooltip and observed resolution define its mechanics.
